Contingency Management Policy

The Contingency Management Plan of the Directorate of Forest Education (DFE) ensures that essential services, digital platforms, and organisational functions continue to operate during emergencies or unexpected disruptions. This policy provides clear procedures to address incidents such as system failures, power outages, natural disasters, cyber incidents, and other events that may affect the normal functioning of DFE, with emphasis on timely response and protection of critical information systems.

DFE is committed to maintaining uninterrupted delivery of educational, administrative, and public-facing services. The plan specifies activation steps for emergency measures, data backup and recovery arrangements, alternative communication channels, and roles and responsibilities for teams tasked with monitoring risks, coordinating response actions, and restoring services efficiently while safeguarding personnel and infrastructure.

To stay effective, the Contingency Management Plan is regularly reviewed, tested, and updated to reflect emerging risks and technological changes. Periodic training and awareness programmes ensure all DFE staff understand required procedures during disruptions, enabling the Directorate to maintain operational continuity and reliably serve trainees, officers, and stakeholders.
